Looking after grass and plants in the watering season, which in Cyprus can be all year round, is for some be a huge chore. Sometimes there are water restrictions, which lead to brown spots on grass and dead plants, which means the replacement of the dead plants and the replanting of new ones, and the cycle continues.

With a rock garden, however, the need to water almost entirely goes away and the few plants you do have, like Cactii are more hardy and thus much more likely to survive a drought.

Here are 10 + 1 examples of rock gardens and the various ways they can be styled.
