The cold weather has officially arrived for some time now! For those who love staying in and even for those who love to be out, to treat ourselves to a hot drink and curl up with a good book is most of the time a must!

Peppermint Hot Chocolate
Ingredients:
1 c. milk
5 mini peppermint patties
Mini marshmallows {optional}
Crushed peppermint sticks or candy canes {optional}
Directions:
Place milk in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Heat until warmed and very small bubbles appear around the edges.
While milk heats, unwrap peppermint patties and coarsely chop patties into about 6 pieces each. Add chopped patties to warmed milk and whisk until completely melted.
Pour mixture into a mug and top with mini marshmallows and crushed peppermint candy, if desired.
Makes one serving. Increase recipe amounts, as needed, to make a larger batch.

Dairy Free Eggnog Latte
Ingredients:
1 to 2 shots espresso
6 oz. Silk Nog
Ground cinnamon, optional
Ground nutmeg, optional
Instructions:
Pour Silk Nog into a microwave safe container.
Microwave on high for 40 to 60 seconds, until hot but not boiling.
Using a frother, froth the Silk Nog.
Pour espresso into a large mug.
Top with steamed Silk Nog and spoon on Silk Nog foam.
Optional, sprinkle ground cinnamon and nutmeg on top

Oreo Hot Chocolate
Ingredients:
4 Cups Whole Milk – divided
1/2 Cup Sweetened Condensed Milk
8 Regular Oreos
3 Tablespoons Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
1 Tablespoon Cornstarch optional
Instructions:
Blend 1 cup milk, sweetened condensed milk, Oreos, cocoa and cornstarch until smooth.
In 3 quart saucepan over medium/low. heat remaining 3 cups milk until just barely steaming. (8-10 minutes) Whisking occasionally.
Add chocolate Oreo mixture and continue to heat while whisking for 5-10 more minutes. Do not allow mixture to boil.
Remove from heat. Serve topped with whipped cream and Oreo Cookie crumbles.

Minty Butter Matcha
Ingredients:
1/2 t – 1 t Matcha powder
8 oz water
1 drop pure peppermint essential oil or 1/2 t peppermint extract
1 teaspoon grassfed butter
1 teaspoon coconut oil
sweetner to taste I used vanilla stevia
Instructions:
Boil your water
Add all ingredients to your blender.
Blend on high for a few seconds until it’s foamy.
Pour and enjoy!

Vanilla Chai Tea Latte
Ingredients:
2 cups water
2 peppercorns
3 cloves (whole)
⅛ tsp nutmeg
¼ tsp ground cardamom
¼ tsp ground ginger
1 cinnamon stick
2 black tea bags
1 Tbls brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ cup milk
Instructions:
Combine water, peppercorns, cloves, cardamom, ginger, nutmeg and a cinnamon stick in a small saucepan.
Bring to a boil and boil for at least five minutes. (The longer you boil, the more the spices will release their flavor.)
Turn off the heat and place tea bags in water. Steep for 5-6 minutes.
Stir in brown sugar and vanilla.
Heat milk in microwave for 15 seconds on medium heat and stir into tea. (Helps to avoid curdling.)
Serve immediately.

Gingerbread Latte
Ingredients:
4 cups milk
1 tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp cloves
¼ tsp nutmeg
2 tsp ginger
½ cup sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
½ cup black coffee
whipped cream (optional)
Directions:
Pour milk into the slow cooker and add in spices, sugar and vanilla. Stir to combine.
Cover and cook on low for 3 hours, but keep an eye out if it gets too hot because you don’t want the milk to boil.
After 3 hours turn off the slow cooker. Pour into mugs about half way and then add hot coffee to fill up the mugs. Stir to mix. Garnish with whipped cream if desired.

Lavender Earl Grey Tea Latte
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon loose leaf Lavender Earl Grey tea
Or 1 Earl Grey teabag & 1 teaspoon culinary lavender buds
1 cup water
½ cup milk steamed
½ teaspoon blueberry lavender syrup optional
¼ teaspoon homemade vanilla extract
Instructions:
Add a couple teaspoons of culinary lavender buds directly to your tin of loose Earl Grey tea. Give the tin a good shake to evenly distribute the lavender
Brew a strong cup of Lavender Earl Grey tea
Steam your milk with ¼ teaspoon homemade vanilla extract for added decadence
Add steamed milk and blueberry lavender syrup to freshly brewed cup of tea

Copycat Starbucks Hot Chocolate
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
2 tablespoons sugar
¼ cup water
1½ cup milk (any kind will do)
¼ teaspoon vanilla
Instructions:
Add water, cocoa and sugar into a microwave safe bowl and heat for approximately 40 seconds or until warm. Mix well to create the chocolate syrup.
Add milk and vanilla and stir well.
Heat in the microwave for about 60 seconds or until hot.
Serve with whipped cream and chocolate chips or syrup on top

Homemade Peppermint Hot Chocolate
Ingredients:
1 cup of milk
1 cup heavy cream
4 ounces of milk chocolate, chopped up (any brand you prefer)
1 tsp peppermint extract
Sugar, if needed and to your taste
Pieces of candy cane crushed for garnish
Whipped cream
Instructions:
In a small sauce pan, heat the milk and heavy cream until it starts to simmer. Don’t bring it to a boil.
Add the pieces of chocolate and peppermint extract, stir until chocolate melts. Taste and add sugar if needed.
Serve with whipped cream and crushed pieces of candy cane.

Chai Tea Latte
Ingredients:
2 Individual Black Tea Bags
1 Teaspoon Cinnamon, Ground
½ Teaspoon Ginger, Ground
¼ Teaspoon Allspice, Ground
1 Cup Water
1 Cup Whole Milk
¼ Cup Brown Sugar, Packed
2 Tablespoons Vanilla Coffee Creamer
Whipped Topping and Ground Nutmeg, To Garnish
Instructions:
Place tea bags, cinnamon, ginger, and allspice into a coffee filter in a traditional drip coffeemaker. Add water and brew.
In a small saucepan, mix milk, brown sugar, and creamer. Simmer until sugar is dissolved. Pour into 2 mugs.
Stir in tea.
Top with whipped cream and nutmeg if desired.

Crock-Pot Peppermint Mocha Hot Cocoa
Ingredients:
1 cup of Coffee Mate Peppermint Mocha Creamer
1.5 cups of cocoa powder
6 cups of milk
1 bar of semi-sweet chocolate
1 bar of peppermint bark
Marshmallows (for garnish)
Whipped cream (for garnish)
Candy canes (for garnish)
Instructions:
Combine 1 cup of Coffee Mate’s Peppermint Mocha Creamer and 6 cups of milk in a crock-pot.
Stir in 1.5 cups of cocoa powder. Stir with a whisk, but it won’t fully dissolve until the milk and creamer heat up.
Break-up and add a bar of semi-sweet chocolate and a bar of peppermint bark.
Cook on high for 2 hours stirring frequently.

Peppermint White Hot Chocolate
Ingredients:
4 cup Milk
1/2 cup White Chocolate Chips
1 Peppermint Candy Cane
1 tsp Peppermint Extract
Whipped Cream and crushed Peppermint Candy (for garnish)
Instructions:
Heat milk and peppermint cane over low heat in a saucepan until peppermint is melted.
Add white chocolate, stirring continuously until melted.
Remove from heat and stir in peppermint extract.
Transfer to cups and garnish.

Harry Potter Inspired Butterbeer Latte
Ingredients:
1 C milk
1 T butter
1 T brown sugar
1 t vanilla extract
a dash of cinnamon
Instructions:
Heat the brown sugar and butter in a pan on medium-high heat. Make sure the pan is large enough to hold all of the milk, which you’ll add shortly!
Stir often and keep heating until it starts to caramelize and you just start to see large bubbles forming on the surface.
